Laura Molinelli and Bay Campbell deliver dream pop and alt country vocal harmony bliss, with over seven albums of independently released original music. Founded in 2015, with roots in bedroom pop as well as traditional folk and Americana, these two strong women deliver a unique and original sound, featuring acoustic and electric guitar, synthesizer, mandolin, ukulele and banjo. They are supported by the super fly, 80s influenced bassist, Elissa “Boom Boom” Buccerri and the insanely versatile drum compositions of Darcy Milligan. Luminous Crush recently received a prestigious grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Vermont Arts Council.
Laura has been a staple of the Vermont music scene for over 25 years, collaborating with such artists as Sean Kelly of The Samples, Jim Gilmour and The Solarfest House Band. She has shared the stage with Lucinda Williams, Dar Williams, Lucy Kaplansky and Lou Gramm (Foreigner), as well as The Legendary Lead Singers of the Temptations.
Bay is best known for her role as the high, sweet and powerful voice of the original Orpheus in Anaïs Mitchell’s Hadestown as well as some well deserved underground fame on college radio under the pseudonym Saint Albums. Bay toured for several years in the pit band for Cirkus Smirkus along with Caleb Elder and Alex “Rizz Nizz” Reiser.
Together, Bay and Laura were finalists at the Podunk Bluegrass Festival and have shared the stage with Amy Helm, daughter of The Band’s Levon Helm. The full band recently shared the stage with Thus Love and The Marble Valley Dance Collective on tour with Pridefest.
